Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026. These Terms govern your use of the FileFlight website, applications, file-transfer services, and related services.

By creating an account, uploading or transferring files, or otherwise using FileFlight, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Using FileFlight

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your account information current.

You are responsible for your account and for all activity that occurs through it. You must be legally permitted to use the Service and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

FileFlight is a file-transfer and temporary file-storage service. It is not intended to be a backup, archival, or permanent storage service.

Privacy and Cookies

Your use of FileFlight is also subject to our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which explains how we collect, use, protect, and share information and how cookies and similar technologies are used.

Your Files

You retain ownership of the files and other content you upload to FileFlight.

You are solely responsible for the files you upload, transfer, download, or otherwise make available through the Service. You represent that you have all rights, permissions, and legal authority necessary to use and transfer your files.

FileFlight does not claim ownership of your files.

You grant FileFlight the limited rights necessary to host, process, scan, transmit, store, and otherwise provide the Service in connection with your files.

Transfers, Expiration and Deletion

FileFlight is designed for temporary file transfers and storage.

Files and transfer links may automatically expire according to the applicable FileFlight plan, transfer settings, or Service functionality. Once a file expires, is deleted, or is revoked, it may no longer be accessible and may be permanently deleted.

The expiration period generally begins after the applicable upload has successfully completed.

You understand that FileFlight does not guarantee that expired or deleted files can be recovered.

FileFlight may also delete, restrict, or remove files when necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to security concerns, comply with legal obligations, or protect the Service and its users.

Malware and Security Scanning

FileFlight may scan files for malware, viruses, ransomware, malicious code, and other potentially harmful content.

If a security threat is detected, FileFlight may block, quarantine, restrict, delete, or otherwise prevent access to the affected file.

FileFlight does not guarantee that every file will be scanned successfully or that every security threat will be detected.

Unscanned and Partially Scanned Files

A file may be identified as “Unscanned” or “Partially Scanned” when FileFlight or its security-scanning providers are unable to complete or fully verify a security scan. This may occur because of file size, file format, technical limitations, scanning errors, service interruptions, or other circumstances.

A file identified as Unscanned or Partially Scanned should not be considered safe or free from malware or other harmful content.

You are responsible for exercising appropriate caution before opening, downloading, sharing, or using any file transferred through FileFlight.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FileFlight is not responsible or liable for malware, viruses, ransomware, malicious code, harmful content, data loss, damage to devices or systems, or other harm resulting from a file that is Unscanned, Partially Scanned, incorrectly identified, or otherwise not detected by FileFlight’s scanning processes.

FileFlight does not guarantee that any particular file will be scanned, cleared, delivered, or made available for download.

Password-Protected Transfers

FileFlight may allow you to protect certain transfers with a password.

You are responsible for keeping passwords and access information secure and for sharing them only with intended recipients.

FileFlight cannot guarantee that a recipient will keep a password confidential once you provide it to them.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use FileFlight to:

  • Upload, transfer, distribute, or store unlawful content.
  • Infringe or violate another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • Distribute malware, viruses, ransomware, malicious code, or other harmful material.
  • Engage in fraud, scams, phishing, or other deceptive activity.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to FileFlight or another person’s account, files, or systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security.
  • Use the Service in a manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Circumvent FileFlight’s security, usage, storage, transfer, or subscription restrictions.

Review, Removal and Legal Requests

FileFlight may investigate activity that it reasonably believes violates these Terms, threatens the security of the Service, or may cause harm to users or others.

We may restrict, suspend, remove, or delete content or accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, address security or abuse concerns, or comply with applicable law or legal requests.

We may cooperate with law enforcement, courts, government authorities, or other authorized parties when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity conducted through your account.

You should immediately notify FileFlight if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

FileFlight is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials or access information.

Team Accounts

If you use FileFlight through a team or organization account, the organization’s administrator may manage members, permissions, and account access in accordance with the applicable FileFlight plan.

Team administrators are responsible for managing their organization’s users and ensuring that members use FileFlight appropriately.

If you are a member of an organization account, your organization’s administrator may be able to access or manage information associated with the organization’s account, subject to applicable law and the organization’s policies.

Transfer Activity and Notifications

FileFlight may provide activity information and notifications associated with transfers, including information such as whether a transfer was sent, opened, or downloaded.

FileFlight’s activity features are intended to provide basic transfer status information. FileFlight does not guarantee the accuracy or availability of every activity notification.

Service Availability

We work to keep FileFlight available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, security issues, third-party service interruptions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Subscriptions and Payments

Certain FileFlight features require a paid subscription.

Subscription prices, features, storage, transfer limits, member allowances, and other plan terms may vary by plan and may change from time to time.

Payments and subscriptions are processed through third-party payment providers. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the payment method associated with your account according to the selected plan.

Unless otherwise stated or required by applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable.

Third-Party Services

FileFlight relies on third-party services to provide certain functions, which may include cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, email delivery, authentication, malware and security scanning, analytics, and other technical services.

Your use of certain FileFlight functionality may therefore be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those third parties.

FileFlight is not responsible for the availability, security, performance, or policies of third-party services that are outside our control.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your FileFlight account through FileFlight support at support@fileflight.com.

Account deletion may result in the deletion of your files and other account information in accordance with FileFlight’s applicable retention procedures.

Certain information may be retained when necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, enforcement of these Terms, or other legitimate purposes permitted by law.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileFlight is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your particular requirements or that files will always upload, transfer, download, remain available, or be successfully scanned.

We specifically disclaim any warranty that files transferred through FileFlight will be free of malware, viruses, ransomware, malicious code, or other harmful content.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FileFlight and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service.

This includes, without limitation, losses or damages arising from file loss, deletion, expiration, unauthorized access, failed transfers, service interruptions, malware, viruses, ransomware, malicious code, Unscanned or Partially Scanned files, or a failure of FileFlight or a third-party security service to detect a threat.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FileFlight’s total liability arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to FileFlight for the Service during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FileFlight and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service.
  • Your files or content.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of applicable laws or the rights of another person or entity.
  • Your actions or omissions in connection with a FileFlight account.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as FileFlight, our services, or applicable laws change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Where appropriate or required by law, we may provide additional notice.

Your continued use of FileFlight after updated Terms become effective means that you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by the laws of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Any disputes will be handled in the courts located in [County, State], unless applicable law requires a different forum.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
